BORIMIR J. DARAKCHIEV, M.D., FACS , P.C., NAMED
GOOD SAMARITAN HOSPITAL'S PHYSICIAN OF THE QUARTER
Do you know a Good Samaritan physician who should be recognized for his or her outstanding service and support to patients? Has that person’s compassion touched you or someone you know? Good Samaritan would like you to nominate a doctor affiliated with the hospital who possesses these qualities for its Physician of the Quarter program.
The previous winner, Borimir Darakchiev, MD, was nominated by one of his patients, Lucinda Burrowes, for “being a skilled, compassionate surgeon”. Dr. Darakchiev cared for Burrowes and closely monitored her progress, not only in relation to surgery of her pituitary tumor, but also for her total well being. Burrowes said, “Having Dr. Darakchiev as my neurosurgeon was better than winning the lottery.” Dr. Darakchiev was presented with a plaque as winner of the hospital’s Physician of the Quarter program, while Burrowes, as the nominator, received a check for $100.
Throughout the year, the hospital will recognize its physicians who have gone above and beyond to help a patient. Good Sam will be accepting letters of nominations (no longer than 300 words) from patients wishing to nominate their physicians. Specific examples should be included of how the physician exceeds his or her normal duties. In addition to the cash award, the patient and doctor selected will be invited to a special ceremony and have their story published in Good News From Good Sam and on the hospital’s website. Letters should be typed or printed legibly and contain the nominating patient’s name, address and phone number. Winners will be contacted by phone.
Nominations can be entered online at www.good-samaritan-hospital.org or mailed to:
